Fees

A standard 50-minute individual consultation is $280. Any different appointment length, report, letter or third-party service is discussed separately before work proceeds.

Medicare

With a valid referral, the current benefit for a 50-minute clinical psychology consultation is $149.05. This applies to MBS item 80010 in consulting rooms and item 91167 by video. The usual gap on the standard fee is $130.95.

Private health

Psychology benefits vary between funds and policies. Contact your insurer to check cover and claiming requirements.

Third-party funding

Authorisation, rates, reporting and role expectations must be confirmed before a funded appointment can proceed.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact Axis directly. If you intend to claim a Medicare rebate, you will generally need a valid referral and mental health treatment plan or another eligible referral pathway.

Are Medicare rebates available?

Yes. With a valid referral, the Medicare benefit for a 50-minute consultation is $149.05 from 1 July 2026 under MBS item 80010 in consulting rooms or item 91167 by video. On the standard $280 fee, the usual gap is $130.95.

Can I use private health insurance?

Some policies provide psychology extras cover. Benefits and claiming rules vary, so check directly with your fund before relying on a rebate.

How long is an appointment?

A standard individual consultation is 50 minutes and the fee is $280. If another appointment type is proposed, the length and fee will be discussed in advance.

Where are appointments held?

Face-to-face appointments are at Level 27, St Martin’s Tower, 44 St Georges Terrace, Perth. Telehealth appointments are available Australia-wide.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Contact Axis as early as possible. The current cancellation terms, including any applicable fee, are provided before your first appointment so you can make an informed decision.

How do I request an appointment?

Complete the pathway survey or contact form with the broad concern, who the appointment is for and your preferred format. Axis will respond to arrange your appointment.

Is Axis an emergency service?

No. Axis does not provide emergency or after-hours crisis response. If there is immediate danger, call 000. Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14.
